Material and Information Flow Diagram (MIFD)

This is a description of the value chain for a specific system (e.g. production line, plant) by using flow charts and other specific symbols. The material flow goes from left to right and it includes all operations with a lead-time and part number, as well as all stock and transport ways. All elements are cross linked according to their real dependencies, and the overall lead time is visible at the bottom based on the critical path elements.
